Diplomas in the news

There is lots in the news today about General Diplomas. Mostly negative:
"Flagship diploma qualifications, which the Government hopes will rival GCSEs and A-levels, could be "worthless" unless a series of grave problems are urgently corrected, the head of a leading exam board has warned." Jerry Jarvis, Edexcel MD - Telegraph
"Critics have already suggested that the new qualifications, to be taught to almost 40,000 teenagers from September, might be seen as inferior to existing courses. "
“The pressure on the whole educational system is unprecedented,” he said.
“But for the sake of all our kids, this has got to work.”
